Mark Lambert was born Jan. 30, 1931, in Detroit, Mich. He graduated from Western High School and attended Michigan State University where he graduated with a degree in journalism. He spent most of his adult life in Southern California where he built the Lambert Advertising Agency, and created the cartoon characters Shorty and Cheap Chicken, which were used to advertise National Lumber.
